  • Republican Senator Charles Grassley won adoption of an amendment to the Senate Finance bill that would require members of Congress to obtain their own health insurance coverage through health care plans established in the bill for currently uninsured Americans and small businesses.
  • The Senate Finance Committee voted Thursday to soften the impact of financial penalties to those who do not obtain health insurance under sweeping health care legislation
  • Speaker Nancy Pelosi says House Democrats have a plan to get the cost of their health bill below $900 billion over 10 years, the amount requested by President Barack Obama.
